Decryption

Decryption is an integral part of modern cryptography and information security. It is the process of converting encrypted data back into its original, readable form, known as plaintext. Encryption is typically performed to protect sensitive information during transmission or storage. Decryption uses a decryption algorithm and a secret key to reverse the encryption process, transforming ciphertext back into plaintext. Without the correct key, decryption is impossible. In symmetric encryption, the same key is used for both encryption and decryption, while in asymmetric encryption, different keys are used. Decryption plays a crucial role in ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of data in various applications and systems, such as secure communication protocols, online transactions, and data storage.
